The honest answer: it depends on scope
There is no single price for a website in India. A five-page brochure site for a local business and a custom e-commerce platform are completely different projects. The cost follows the work involved, so the smartest first step is to define what you actually need.
Six things that change the price
- Number of pages. More pages mean more design, content and testing.
- Custom design vs. template. A tailored design built around your brand takes more time than adapting a ready-made layout.
- Features. Booking forms, payment gateways, user logins, dashboards and integrations all add development work.
- Content. Who writes the text and prepares images? Professional copy and photography are separate efforts.
- SEO setup. Proper titles, structure, speed and schema take planning, but they pay off for years.
- Maintenance. Hosting, domain renewal, backups and updates are ongoing costs, not one-time ones.
Cheap websites often cost more later
A very low-priced site can look fine on launch day and still be slow, hard to find on Google or impossible to update. Rebuilding it a year later usually costs more than building it properly once. Ask what is included: mobile design, speed, SEO basics, security and support.
How to get a useful quote
Write down your business goal, the pages you need, any must-have features and examples of sites you like. Share the same brief with two or three agencies and compare what each includes, not just the number.
Start with the goal, not the price
If the goal is to get more enquiries, plan the website around that: clear services, trust signals, a visible contact option and fast loading on mobile. That focus matters more than adding every possible feature.
